In his interpretation of this literary treasure by the great Russian Poet Alexander Pushkin, director A. Liznenkov is suggesting that the human life is a constant struggle to defeat the inevitable death through all-consuming passions of envy, lust, and greed. The mix of surrealism and grotesque will stimulate both your intellect and imagination. Played in Russian with English subtitles.

In celebration of Alexander Pushkin's 210th birthday Theatre U will present "Little Tragedies" on June 6 2009 at 7:00 PM and again on June 7 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.
