A Touch Away is a story about two families whose lives intersect in an apartment complex in Orthodox neighborhood of Bnei Barak in Tel Aviv. The Bermans are stictly religious (Haredi) family, whose daughter Rochalle is about to enter into an arranged marriage with a wealthy bridegroom. But sparks fly when Zorik, a young, secular Russian immigrant, and his family move in next door to Rochale and her Orthodox family. The love that soon buds between the two young neighbors, and the secrets that each family must hide, threaten the families' deeply rooted cultural assumptions and challenge individual family members' beliefs.

Screenings will take place in four two-episode meetings. Each meeting will be followed by a stimulating discussion with a special guest speaker. During the last screening in May the main series actor, a Russian-born Henry David, (who is the hottest thing in Israel right now), will be there to answer your questions and lead the last discussion.

Please RSVP to: AlexandraB@jafi.org
Cost: $5

Missed the first screening. Is it worthwhile to attend the rest? Did anyone attend the first and have any comments?
